By 2026, internet usage in Togo has expanded significantly, with over 4.2 million people online, representing approximately 45% of the population. The youth demographic (15-24) dominates internet engagement, driven by mobile access and social media trends. Digital literacy programs are increasingly reaching older populations, but usage remains comparatively low among seniors, indicating a digital divide that may require targeted interventions.
The rising internet penetration supports Togo's digital economy ambitions, especially among young professionals and students. As mobile broadband infrastructure improves, we expect continued growth in online activities, e-commerce, and digital services. Bridging the age gap in internet usage could further enhance economic opportunities and social inclusion, fostering a more digitally connected Togolese society.
