By 2026, Samoa's internet user base has expanded to approximately 157,000, representing a 70% penetration rate. Mobile internet remains dominant, driven by widespread smartphone adoption and improved network infrastructure across the islands. Data consumption per user continues to rise, reflecting increased streaming, social media, and online services usage, with an average of 18 GB per month per user.
The growth in internet access has significantly impacted Samoa’s economy and social life, enabling greater e-commerce, e-governance, and digital education. Nearly half of all households now have internet access, fostering digital inclusion. Continued investments in broadband infrastructure are expected to sustain this upward trend, making Samoa more connected than ever before and bridging urban-rural digital divides.
