By 2026, North Macedonia has achieved a significant increase in internet penetration, reaching 78%, driven by government initiatives and infrastructure investments. The average internet speed has improved to 48 Mbps, supporting remote work and digital education. Despite high connectivity levels, outages occur roughly 3.2 times per month per user, mainly due to infrastructure upgrades and weather impacts. Mobile internet remains dominant, with 2.8 million users, facilitating digital inclusion across urban and rural areas.
The country's e-government services have matured, with 65% of government functions accessible online, boosting transparency and efficiency. Continued investments are expected to reduce outage frequency further, while expanding high-speed networks will drive economic growth and digital innovation in North Macedonia.
